26-Ago-2015 - Animals of the World
True deer are ruminant mammals forming the family Cervidae. Male deer of all species (except the Chinese water deer) and female reindeer grow and shed new antlers each year. This distinguishes them from other horned animals resembling deer (such as antelope), which permanently retain their horns.
